Return & Refund Policy

At Custom Hat Maker, every product is custom-made to your specific design, branding, and size requirements. Because each order is produced exclusively for you, our return and refund policy reflects the personalized nature of our products. Please review this policy carefully before placing an order.

1. Custom Products — General Policy

Because all hats and leather patch accessories are made-to-order:

• We do not accept returns on custom products that match the approved mockup
• We do not offer refunds on completed custom orders
• Orders cannot be canceled once production has begun

We stand fully behind the quality of our craftsmanship. If there is an issue with your order caused by us, we will make it right. See Section 3 below.

2. Order Cancellation Policy

Before Design Approval

If you request cancellation before you have approved your digital mockup:

• A 20% cancellation fee applies to cover order processing and setup costs
• The remaining balance will be refunded to your original payment method within 5–10 business days

After Production Has Started

Once production begins (after mockup approval):

• A 50% cancellation fee applies
• The remaining 50% will be refunded within 5–10 business days

After Shipment

Orders cannot be canceled, returned, or refunded once they have shipped.

3. When We Will Issue a Replacement or Refund

We will fully resolve your issue — with a free replacement order or a full refund — if any of the following apply:

• The finished product does not match your approved digital mockup
• The item has a manufacturing defect (stitching failure, patch misalignment, material defect)
• The decoration or engraving does not match the approved design
• You received the wrong item or the wrong quantity

To request a resolution, you must:

• Attach photos showing the defect or discrepancy clearly

Once verified, we will either rush a replacement order at no charge or issue a full refund — your choice.

4. Damaged or Defective Items

1. Shipping Carriers

The carrier assigned to your order depends on your location, package size, and selected shipping method at checkout.

2. Shipping Costs

• Available on all orders of $150.00 USD or more
• Valid for delivery addresses within the continental United States
• Applied automatically at checkout — no coupon code required

Paid Shipping (Orders Under $150)

For orders under $150, shipping rates are calculated at checkout based on current carrier pricing, package weight, and delivery destination.

• USPS — estimated delivery 2–7 business days after shipment
• UPS — estimated delivery 2–5 business days after shipment

3. Order Processing Time

All orders at Custom Hat Maker are custom-produced. Standard production time is:

• Production: 5–7 business days after mockup approval
• 99% of orders ship within 7 business days of mockup approval
• Rush production may be available — contact us before ordering

Production begins only after you have reviewed and approved your free digital mockup. Delays in mockup approval will delay your ship date.

4. Estimated Delivery Timeframes

Total estimated time from order placement to delivery:

• Standard (Free Shipping over $150): 9–17 business days total
• USPS Paid Shipping: 7–14 business days total
• UPS Paid Shipping: 7–12 business days total

Business days are Monday through Friday, excluding US federal holidays. Delivery estimates begin after production is complete and the order has shipped.

5. Order Tracking

Once your order ships, you will receive an automated email containing:

• Orders with shipping insurance: eligible for replacement if lost or damaged in transit

8. Damaged or Lost Shipments

Lost Orders

If your tracking shows delivery but you have not received your order:

• Allow 2 additional business days — carrier scans sometimes precede physical delivery

• Replacements for lost orders are only available if shipping insurance was purchased

9. Shipping Restrictions

We currently ship to addresses within the United States only, including Alaska and Hawaii (additional shipping costs may apply). We do not ship to P.O. Boxes for UPS shipments. We do not offer international shipping at this time.

10. Holiday & Peak Season Delays

During high-demand periods including major US holidays, processing and delivery times may be extended by 2–5 additional business days. We recommend placing orders at least 3 weeks in advance during peak seasons (November through January).

11. Address Accuracy

Please double-check your shipping address at checkout. Custom Hat Maker is not responsible for orders delivered to an incorrect address provided by the customer. Address correction requests must be submitted before the order ships.
